There are cities in the jungles that are invisible to us. New technology finds man-made structures where our eyes see only trees such as Mayan temples that the land took back. If the Panama Canal is let be, the tear will heal itself, begin to close over and rebuild with silt and dirt. In Chernobyl, forests began to grow less than a year after human evacuation, and with the plants came wildlife, a population that is now thriving. The earth takes back what belongs to her, so slowly that it is nearly impossible to see. One day, this civilization will lie ruined and dusty, and out of the barren earth, flowers will start to bloom.
