Earth Day 2021

April 22, 2021

Written by Angelica Irreño

Earth Day is an important holiday that billions of people celebrate and promote the health of our environment around the world. Annually, every April 22nd, we continue to stand for a sustainable Earth as some people adapt to more environmentally friendly ways of living.

Every day we should do something small to make an impact on our planet. We can do more environmental activities, such as:

  • Reusing your metal water bottle instead of buying a plastic bottle.

  • Turning off the lights when you leave a room.

  • Keeping the recycling container next to the trash can and reminding everyone to recycle as much as possible.

  • Use reusable bags at the grocery store instead of using plastic bags.

  • Instead of driving to your destination, carpool with friends, walk, skate, or ride a bike.

  • Attend Metamorphosis or The Riddle of the Sphinx to learn about local plants in SF at The Gregangelo Museum.

The Gregangelo Museum not only provides opportunities and mentoring for artists of ALL disciplines to create and display a fusion of immersive visual and performing arts, but also it is involved in important environmental initiatives. We have created an outdoor experience called The Riddle of the Sphinx. A transformational journey through three enchanting garden portals on the perimeters of the museum. Our artists have gathered together to build, sculpt, paint and create mesmerizing spaces for our audience. For instance, the Pan sculpture is composed of approximately 15.500 pieces of local twigs and bark. It took 700 work hours by 19- year old artist Anya Chytrowski.

Over 300 plants were planted for the Garden of Life and drew inspiration from the imagined Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The Gregangelo Museum invites you to relive your Innocence in the playful Garden of Youth, enjoy Sensuality in the Garden of Life and contemplate the Unknown in the Garden of Wisdom.

Earth Day serves to ground us in what we need to do to protect our home and what we can do now, in light of all the damage we have already done to our world. The Gregangelo Museum creates magic by bringing the most diverse artists from different ages and cultures together to form a magical experience. The passion and inspiration in all of the shows, performances, and tours are an important part of our livelihood. We are sure that working together in unity to achieve a better future and connecting with people around the worldis essential to continue appreciating and respecting people worldwide.
