PROMETHEUS AND EPIMETHEUS

Greek Mythology

Prometheus and Epimetheus were Titan brothers. One day, the gods asked them to create life.  Epimetheus made flora, sculpting huge redwoods and tiny daisies. Prometheus crafted fauna, and each creature received a gift. But when the final creature was formed, Prometheus found he had no gifts left. He left his creation, but he watched as they suffered, and his heart ached.  So Prometheus stole a piece of fire from the gods’s hearth and gave it to his creations. When the gods discovered what he had done, they were furious, and bound him to a mountain and bade an eagle to come eat his liver every day. The immortal Titan remained bound to the mountain, but he watched his creations begin to build and grow, and he thought, this is not so bad, to see my kindness bear fruit.
