This pathway asks more of you than you originally thought. Look around you, it says, and I’m sure you will, for a moment. But then you will go back to living your life, and while that is not bad, it isn’t the goal. The pathway is asking you to remember to look up, all the time, and sometimes down, and around, see other people’s faces and the flowers blooming and wilting, see the springtime hummingbirds and the winter finches. In alertness there is looking and listening without judgement, opening a path to acceptance that you can choose to walk, if you want to. In recognition, there is beauty, and kindness. After all, in the end, all we want is to be seen.
